JPSC Syllabus
New Exam Pattern of JPSC:
The Combined Competitive Examination will be held in three stages-
- 1. Preliminary Examination (Multiple Choice Objective Type)
- 2. Main Examination (Written & Interview).
- Note: Interview or Personality test (the 3rd stage) is part of the Main examination.
1. Preliminary Examination:
Screening paper- Preliminary examination will consists of only ONE compulsory paper, namely GENERAL STUDIES, with Multiple Choice Objective Type Questions. The question paper will be both in Hindi and English.
Duration 2 hours.
GENERAL STUDIES: syllabus
1. History of India - 15 questions
2. Geography of India - 10 questions
3. Indian Polity and Governance - 10 questions
4. Economic and Sustainable Development - 10 questions
5. Science and Technology - 15 questions
6. Jharkhand specific - 10 questions
7. Current Affairs - 15 questions
8. General Knowledge - 15 questions
Total: 100 questions, 200 marks. Duration: 2 hours
2. Exam Pattern for Mains Exam:
- There will be a total of 6 papers in the Mains Exam on the following main categories as gien below:
- 1. Paper 1: General Hindi & General English of 100 marks, 3 hours duration- Qualifying nature
- 2. Paper 2: Language and Literature of 100 marks, 3 hours duration-
- 3. Paper 3: Social Sciences (History & Geography) of 200 marks, 3 hours duration.
- 4. Paper 4: Indian Constitution & Polity, Public Administration & Good Governance of 200 marks, 3 hours duration.
- 5. Paper 5: Indian Economy, Globalization and Sustainable Development of 200 marks, 3 hours duration.
- 6. Paper 6: General Sciences, Environment & Technology Development of 200 marks, 3 hours duration.
Total marks Allotted to Mains Exam: 900 Marks
The candidates who qualify in the written exam shall be called to attend the Interview which is the final selection exam for the JPSC.
Marks Allotted to Interview: 100
Total Marks in Mains exam (excluding qualifying Paper 1)= 900+100= 1000 marks - Marks scored out of this 1000 would determine the rank, and the service alottment.
